They let Vince Gill host cause he's the only male singer that doesn't (a) look like a grubby redneck and/or (b) constantly wear a stupid-ass hat.
Kid Rock had no business on there, grubby or not.
It was nice to see Johnny Cash get some recognition.
I remember when Allison Krauss was a big ole gal. She has an amazing voice.
Patty Loveless is still a feckin' hottie.
Leann Rimes will never be a hottie (to me) cause I'll always see the little kid, no matter how hoochified she gets.
Jimmy Buffett looks a LOT like Larry David these days. Weird.
Shania and Faith are still easy to look at, and that'll keep people buying their records I guess.
The Dixie Chicks were a no-show. I was really hoping they'd show up nekkid. |||106808777519396591|||11/05/2003 09:53:00 PM|||Skillzy|||SICK
I've always been lucky and avoided major health problems. I can count on one hand the number of times I've been flat on my back sick. And when I get an annoying little cough/sinus cold like I have now, my usual (and manly) reaction is to tough it out. You're sick enough to feel bleah, but not really sick enough to stay at home or change your routine. Eventually it goes away, or you end up in the hospital - either way it gets taken care of. So it was with great reluctance that I drug my butt to the Doc In A Box today to try and get rid of this junk that's been dogging me for a couple of weeks - I was finally nagged there by co-workers who got tired of my coughing.
Now getting stuck is one of my least favorite things in the world. There's always a chance I'm gonna keel over if there are needles around. So naturally, the first thing they did was take some blood...I can't remember the last time I did that. Luckily, the nurse was a pro, and it actually hurt more pulling the bandaid off my hairy arm later. Then after a while the doc came in and said "blahblah blahblahblah blah SHOT blah blahblah". Man, I probably got my last shot in 1993. I knew if I came here they'd stick me. At least I didn't pass out.
So forty bucks, one sore butt, and 45 minutes at WalMart waiting for drugs (15 of which was waiting for the little old lady to figure out how to work the register) later, I made it home to begin my recovery. I'm such a wuss.|||106809138156946694|||11/05/2003 07:41:00 AM|||Skillzy|||I'm likin the latest idea for an Olympic event. Supposedly the Fedora Project will be an alternative. (sigh) Time to start test driving distros again. |||106788488584584264|||
