I was on an old hand-me down ThinkPad running XP, and after I had been on a while it gave me one of those "Updates Ready to Install" messages, so I started the install. Five minutes later, the machine locks up and won't reboot into Windows, it's just in a reboot death loop. Luckily, I had installed SuSE on the machine when I set it up to fool around with, and was able to do what I needed to do with Linux. For those of you who haven't been watching the news, the Carolinas are all screwed up right now. The roads are OK now (except for traffic lights being out a lot of places). We haven't had power at my house since daybreak yesterday, but luckily we can drive around to places that are warm, and there's hot water. I snuck over to the colo facility that we use with a laptop so I could check on servers, and to get a quick internet fix cause I was jonesin pretty bad.|||85591539|||
